The campus was originally established in 1905 as a farm school, but has since developed into a comprehensive doctoral university. 학교특징	- What is Extension? UC Davis Extension is an integral part of the UC Davis campus. We are the lifelong learning arm of the campus and we have been providing short-courses and certificate programs since 1960. Our goal is to help learners transform lives. We partner with industry experts and UC Davis faculty to offer a variety of learning formats (short-term training courses, certificate programs, and online offerings) for learners of all ages. - What is the Center for International Education? The Center for International Education (CIE) is one of the Centers within UC Davis Extension. Communication and Culture - 4 weeks

과정소개	The Communication and Culture Program (CCP) is a comprehensive four-week program with four hours of instruction each day. It is ideal for participants of all English levels who want an intensive learning experience within a short time frame. This program is offered in both winter and summer and focuses on American culture and conversational fluency. The core classes are Intercultural Research Project, U.S. Society and Culture, Listening and Pronunciation, and Everyday Expressions and Idioms. Participants must have a high-school diploma or be at least 18 years old to enroll in this program. The Program •Four weeks long—20 hours of instruction each week •Offered four times per year: January, February, July and August •Highly-qualified and experienced teachers •Open to students of all English-speaking levels •Small class size (14-18) for high interaction among instructors and students •Optional trips to Yosemite National Park, San Francisco, Napa Valley and Los Angeles •UC Davis students as conversation partners both in- and out-of-class •Daily recreational, cultural and social activities with UC Davis student leaders	주요특징	Academic and Business Electives Advanced students may choose one elective from the following: •Academic Preparation Skills •Business Communication Skills •Everyday Expressions and Idioms •Critical Thinking Placement by English Language Ability Students are placed according to their written and oral evaluation upon arrival at UC Davis. English for Global Business Program - 4 weeks

과정소개	The English for Global Business Program is designed to help participants improve their knowledge of global business as well as their English proficiency. It is ideal for students who major in business-related fields or who wish to improve their English proficiency within business contexts. The program is offered in summer, and focuses on global business issues, including skill-building for a transnational workplace and learning how organizations integrate innovation and sustainability into their business practices. The core classes are Hot Topics in Global Business, Business Communication Skills, Introduction to Entrepreneurship, and Intercultural Business Research Project. Students also practice English once a week in class with UC Davis conversation leaders. Intensive English - 10 weeks

과정소개	Students have been coming to the University of California, Davis to learn English since 1977. Here in California they fulfill their dreams and create their futures. This 10-week program is offered year-round—in fall, winter, spring and summer quarters—and includes a total of 200 hours of instruction at eight different levels of proficiency. It is ideal for those wanting to learn English for academic, professional or social purposes. Participants must have a high school diploma or be at least 18 years old to enroll in this program. The university offers classes in more than 100 departments, from psychology to engineering to art. Partial-Term Enrollment Students can attend the first part of any 10-week session as long as they give advance notice to the IEPP office. They must attend a minimum of four weeks of the 10-week session. Access to Academic Support Students receive academic advising, including help with university applications. Lectures, workshops, individual meetings and information sessions are offered quarterly to ensure successful adaptation into U.S. academic culture. Topics have included Time Management, Preparing for Exams, Applying to U.S. Universities and Resume Writing. Placement by English Language Ability Intensive English Program students are placed in one of eight proficiency levels based on a written and oral evaluation. Basic- and intermediate-level students focus on core grammar, listening and speaking skills, reading comprehension, vocabulary and composition courses in addition to a learning resource component for more extensive skills practice. High intermediate students can choose from elective courses, such as Intermediate Communication Skills, American Slang and Idioms, Drama, Pronunciation, U.S. Culture and Society, and Intermediate TOEFL Preparation. More advanced English-speaking students choose from among various core classes and electives, such as Advanced Reading, Advanced Media Discussion, Public Speaking, Current Business Trends, Advanced Writing and TOEFL Preparation. Some students choose to take courses for credit on the UC Davis campus or at UC Davis Extension. Some students stay up to a year, progressing through greater levels of mastery. Students who plan to attend graduate school in the United States or work in an American setting often spend at least one quarter improving their English skills in the Intensive English Program in order to prepare. Field Trips Each quarter, optional trips are planned to scenic, cultural and historic places like San Francisco, Sacramento, Lake Tahoe, Yosemite, the Napa Valley wine region, Las Vegas, and Los Angeles.
