학교소개 및 특징	1891년 은행가이자 실업가인 앤서니 드렉셀(Anthony J. Drexel)이 드렉셀예술·과학·산업대학의 교명으로 설립 되었습니다. 1936년 드렉셀공과대학으로 개명했다가 1969년 현재의 학교명으로 바뀌었습니다. 문리대학, 경영대학, 공과대학, 정보과학·기술대학, 디자인아트대학, 교육대학, 환경과학대학 등 9개 단과대학과 대학원으로 구성되어 있습니다. 학위과정은 학사·석사·박사과정으로 편성되어 있으며, 학부에서 가장 인기 있는 전공과목은 전기공학, 기계공학, 화학공학, 금융학, 정보과학이고 공학, 경영학, 디자인아트가 학습강도가 가장 높으며 경영학, 건축학에 학생이 가장 많이 있습니다 이 대학교는 학교에서 배운 학문적 지식을 산업현장에서 구체화하고 또한 그 경험을 바탕으로 학문적 경험을 풍부히 한다는 취지로 미국에서 가장 대대적인 산학협동프로그램을 실시하고 있습니다. 경영학과의 일부 학생을 제외한 모든 대학생들은 일정 기간 동안 대학에서 인정한 1,200개 이상의 기업·산업체·연구소 등에 의무적으로 취업하여 경험을 쌓아야 합니다. 미국의 이스턴 메노나이트 칼리지(Eastern Mennonite College), 인디애나대학교 펜실베이니아캠퍼스(Indiana University of Pennsylvania), 링컨대학교(Lincoln University)와 학점교환제를 실시하고 있습니다. 재학생의 70%가 기숙사에서 생활하며 연평균 장학금 지급액은 8,934달러로 신입생의 91%, 나머지 재학생의 84%가 혜택을 제공하고 있으며 교내에는 영화·컴퓨터·학생회 등 90개의 동아리와 20개의 스포츠단체가 활동 중이며 교내행사로 봄축제, 겨울축제 등이 개최됩니다. 도서관에는 약 50만 권의 도서와 약 74만 점의 마이크로폼 자료, 4,800종의 정기간행물이 구비되어 있어, 대학부설기관으로 예술박물관, 극장, 시청각센터, TV스튜디오, 레크리에이션센터, 자동화기술센터, 공학센터 등이 있습니다. 캠퍼스는 필라델피아 도심과 인접한 곳에 위치하며 15만 3787㎡의 대지에 기숙사를 포함해 34동의 건물이 있으며 졸업생인 삽화가 맥스필드 패리시(Maxfield Parrish)는 이 대학에서 미술을 공부했 습니다 본교가 위치한 필라델피아는 펜실베니아주 최대의 도시이자 인구 140만이 넘는 미국에서 6번째로 큰 도시입니다. 뉴욕과 워싱턴의 중간지역에 해당하며 미국을 대표하는 거대도시 가운데 하나로 상업과 공업이 중요한 위치를 차지하며 은행을 비롯해 다양한 종류의 기업과 상점이 있습니다. 미국 내에서 가장 많은 양의 석유를 생산하며 델라웨어 강 연안을 따라 건설된 항만을 이용한 화물운송이 활발히 이루어지고 있습니다.
