| 학교소개 및 특징 | "데이턴 대학교(University of Dayton, UD)는 카톨릭계 사립종합대학으로 1850년 마리아회(Society of Mary)에 의해 설립되었습니다. 설립당시에는 St. Mary's School of Boy라는 남학생들을 위한 Day & Boarding School이었으나 이후 St. Mary's School, St. Mary's Institute, St. Mary's College 등의 이름으로 불리다가 1920년 현재와 같은 University of Dayton이라는 이름을 갖게 되었습니다. 1937년 여학생들을 받기 시작하면서 미국 내 최초의 남녀공학 카톨릭대학이 되었으며, 현재 오하이오주에서 가장 큰 규모의 사립대학입니다. 또한 미국에서 가장 우수한 카톨릭 대학 TOP 10 중 하나이며, 미국 내 3개의 마리아회 대학(Marianist Universities) 중 가장 큰 규모로 오하이오주(Ohio) 데이턴(Dayton)에 자리하고 있습니다. 인문과학대학(College of Arts and Sciences), 경영대학(School of Business Administration), 교육대학(School of Education and Allied Professions), 공과대학(School of Engineering), 법학대학원(School of Law), 총 5개의 단과대학 및 전문대학원에서 학사, 석사, 박사 학위과정 및 수료과정(Certificate) 등을 제공하고 있습니다. 학부에서는 80여 개의 학사학위과정을 비롯하여 다양한 부전공(Minor) 및 수료과정을 제공하고 있으며, 대학원에서는 50여 개의 석사학위과정 및 10여 개의 박사학위과정을 제공하고 있습니다. 특히 대학원에서는 학위 취득 후 수강할 수 있는 다양한 전문 수료과정과 연계학위과정(Joint Degree Program)을 운영하고 있으며, 교육대학의 경우에는 교사와 관련한 여러 자격증 취득 프로그램(Licensure Program)들도 제공하는 등 학생들에게 다양한 교육의 기회를 제공하고 있습니다.
