Important update for students travelling to the UK
The government has announced that from 30th November 2021, all travellers to the UK will be required to take a COVID-19 PCR test within 2 days of their arrival. This will apply to both fully vaccinated and non-vaccinated travellers.
Travellers will need to pre-book a day-2 COVID-19 PCR test before they travel and complete the relevant details on the Passenger Locator form, ready for when they arrive in the UK. The test can be taken on the day of arrival and must be taken by day-2.
Fully vaccinated travellers* will then need to self-isolate in their accommodation until they have received confirmation of a negative test result, typically within 48 hours of sending the completed test.
Non-vaccinated travellers will be required to book an additional day-8 COVID-19 PCR test and complete a 10-day quarantine period (or wait until the negative day-8 test result has been received if not received by day-10).

Stafford House admissions staff will be in contact with our partners to help ensure our students are prepared for a smooth arrival and welcome to our schools.
Students arriving by 27th March 2022 can take advantage of our free quarantine accommodation at Piccadilly Court Residence, London. This is available for up to 1 week for fully vaccinated students, or up to 2 weeks for those not fully vaccinated**

Our Brighton & Cambridge schools are set to re-open!
Dear Partner,
Following the successful re-opening of our London and Canterbury schools for face-to-face lessons, we are delighted to announce our plans for re-opening our Brighton and Cambridge schools in the coming months!
In the interest of providing the best possible learning environment for our students, we have decided to push back the re-opening of our Cambridge school to the 17th May and our Brighton school to the 21st June.
As we wait for UK government guidance on international travel in May, we are confident that our revised re-opening timeline will ensure we can meet our students’ expectations for a lively student community in the school, and a safer environment from which to study.
As the current UK restrictions ease, and shops, restaurants and museums fully reopen in May, students in Cambridge and Brighton will be able to enjoy more of the local life these great cities are renowned for as well as have greater opportunity to interact with other students.
It has been a wonderful experience welcoming our student cohort back to continue their learning journeys, and we can't wait to open our doors to more!
The roadmap for travelling to the UK
The UK government has set out a new framework for safe international travel to and from the UK. This new method will use a ‘traffic-light’ system to help clarify which rules international travellers will need to follow when travelling to the UK. This will depend on which country they are travelling from.
This new system will begin on 17th May at the earliest, but the UK government plans to announce which countries will belong to which categories in early May. Stafford House will share new information with our partners as soon as we have it.
The new measures are likely to be the same as current requirements but will apply differently to travellers depending on whether they travel from a green, amber, or red country.

*Students take their test on the fifth day and send the test for analysis. Results can take more than 48 hours. Students are only released from quarantine upon confirmation of the negative result.
After the government has confirmed how countries will be categorised, we understand this will be kept under review and will be subject to change depending on the health situation in that country and in the UK.
Our team will help to prepare partners and students to know what they need to do before travelling to the UK and what to do on arrival. We recommend that you check the official UK government advice for the latest information. Studying at our Cambridge school
With our Cambridge and Brighton schools on the verge of reopening we spoke to some of our recent students about their experiences with us.
Viviane from Brazil studied at our Cambridge school last year and had a fantastic experience. Not only did she love the city and the culture she also made great strides with her English.
Impressed with her progress and the support she received from teachers and staff she said:

Face to face classes continue in Calgary
Our Calgary school has been going from strength to strength, remaining open through the majority of the pandemic and continuing to offer targeted support to students hoping to get into higher education with our University Pathways Programme.
Juliana from Colombia is planning to study Filmmaking at SAIT and has been really impressed with the level of support, guidance and attention she has received from our staff:

이번 주에 영국 정부가 COVID19의 확산 방지를 위하여, 모든 학교의 대면 수업 중지를 포함한 ‘락다운’를 발표하였습니다.그에 따라, Stafford House의 영국 센터들의 수업도 1월 4일부터 온라인 수업으로 변경하여 진행하고 있습니다.
저희 센터들은 최소 3월까지 대면 수업 센터를 닫을 것이며, 온라인을 통해 모든 과정의 레슨과 액티비티를 진행합니다.영국에 있는 학생들을 위해 3월 초에는 센터 재오픈을 목표로 하고 있으며, 3월 29일 이후부터 모든 학생을 환영하고자 합니다. 저희는 지속해서 정부의 안내를 모니터할 것이며, 안전하다는 판단이 있을 때만 센터를 다시 오픈하고자 합니다.

안녕하세요 파트너 여러분!
많은 분들이 아시는 것과 같이, 영국 정부가 11월 5일부터 12월 2일까지 락다운에 들어갑니다. 즉, 이 기간동안 모든 식당들과 non-essential shops에 해당하는 옷가게, 신발가게, 전기상점, 여행사 등은 영업을 중지해야만 합니다. 교육과 재택 근무가 불가능한 일 혹은 개방된 곳에서의 야외 운동, 병원 진료, 식재료 구입 등 생활에 꼭 필요한 활동 이외에는 가능한 집에 있는 것이 권장됩니다.
Stafford House 학생에게는 어떤 영향이 있나요?
수업:이번 락다운 조치는 학교기관에는 해당하지 않습니다. 따라서, Stafford House의 수업들은Wecare 서약에 따라 지속하여 진행됩니다. 필수적인 사항을 제외, 모든 외부인들은 차단 될 것입니다.
숙소:저희 기숙사에 머물고 있는 학생들은, 모든 코로나 바이러스 방역 수칙을 따르게 됩니다. 학생이 개인 숙소 혹은 홈스테이에 머물고 있다면, 학교에 오는 시간을 제외하고 같이 지내고 있는 가족과만 지내야 합니다. 기존과 동일하게 모든 학생과 직원에게 센터에 도착하는 즉시 체온을 확인할 것 입니다. 숙소에서는 안과 밖 어디에서도 외부인과 어울릴 수 없습니다.
액티비티:학생들은 야외운동 혹은 레크레이션 (1인만 동반 가능), 병원 진료, 식재료 쇼핑 혹은 꼭 필요한 활동을 제외, 센터 혹은 숙소에서만 지낼 수 있습니다. Stafford House 는 락다운 기간동안 저희 학생들의 어학능력 습득 그리고 사회적 교류를 위해 온라인 액티비티를 추가로 진행하려고 합니다.
여행:락다운 기간에는 필수적인 아닌 모든 여행은 제한됩니다. 하지만, 교육을 위해 영국으로 입국하거나, 혹은 공부를 마치고 출국하는 것은 제외 됩니다. 항공사가 출국편의 일정을 변경한다면, 학생은 센터의 학생지원 팀으로 연락하여 도움을 받으실 수 있습니다. 만약 영국으로 도착하는 항공 일정에 변동이 생긴다면, 저희 수속팀으로 연락 주세요.

Dear Partners,
As you may know by now, the UK will be entering lockdown from this Thursday 5th November to Wednesday 2nd December 2020. This means that all restaurants and non-essential shops must close. People will be told to stay at home except for education, work (if it can't be done from home), exercise and recreation, medical reasons, shopping for food and other essentials, or to care for others.
How will this impact Stafford House students?
Classes: the new lockdown rules do not affect schools, colleges, and universities. Therefore Stafford House classes will continue as normal and as outlined in our We Care Pledge. Visits to Stafford House Schools and residences will be restricted to essential purposes - food delivery, medical reasons, or other services essential to the running of the schools.
Accommodation: All existing COVID protocols remain in effect for students staying in Stafford House residences. Students in independent accommodation or homestay should only mix with those from their households apart from coming to school or college. We will continue to ask all students and staff to attend for daily temperature checks upon arrival. Households will not be allowed to mix with others indoors, or in private gardens.
Activities: students will be required to stay on campus or in their accommodation except for outdoor exercise and recreation (and only with one other person), medical reasons, and shopping for food and other essentials. Stafford House will be running additional in-school and online activities during the lockdown period to maintain our support for our students’ language acquisition and social contact opportunities.
Travel: Travel for non-essential reasons is not permitted: this does not affect students arriving in UK for their studies or departing at the end of their studies. If airlines change their return flights, students should contact their school’s Student Services team for guidance and assistance. If there are changes to arrivals flights into the UK, please contact Stafford House Admissions.
The full government advice can be viewed on the UK Government's New National Restrictions page. Students should speak to their school’s student services team if they have any further questions at all.
The health of Stafford House students and staff is our paramount concern. We will strictly enforce the rules of the lockdown to ensure all our students and staff remain safe. By doing our part, Public Health England assures us that the number of cases in the UK will go down by 2nd December, after which we can return to the current tiered system.

2019 - what a year!

Chicago refurbishment
We started off the year in great fashion with a complete refurbishment of our school in Chicago. The redesign has brought the school in line with the modern, bright and meticulously designed interiors of our other schools across the world, with open spaces, plenty of light, a spacious student lounge and plenty of areas to relax between class.
Throw in a nicely appointed kitchen and our students are well catered for!

Canterbury refurbishment
Not content to refurbish just one of our schools last year we also refreshed our fantastic school in Canterbury! Perfectly located at just five minutes walk from the main high street, our Canterbury school has a vibrant, fresh and open feel to the facilities. The school features a student lounge, many areas to study and relax, a student kitchen, plus the added benefit of an outside courtyard.
Our centre video demonstrates what a special destination Canterbury is with its large student population, rich history, beautiful medieval city-centre and location in the heart of the Kent countryside. Canterbury really is perfect to study in!
Professional Certificates launched in London & Toronto
In 2019 we started offering our industry renowned Professional Certificate Programmes in London and Toronto! These courses proved such a success in our US schools that we had to bring them to our other great locations!
Certificates are offered in Marketing, Business Management and Project Management and allow students to learn from experienced teachers, local business leaders and new entrepreneurs as they share their experience and insight of the business world. These courses are great for students who want to to learn business skills in a Canadian, British or American setting, build professional networks and gain a certificate to enhance their professional resume.

2019 has been another busy year for Stafford House Summer ? it has been particularly special as we celebrated our 25th anniversary. Our Director Ruth Fenton, who has been with us since the very beginning, was also recognised for her hard work and dedication when she was presented with a
Lifetime Achievement Award for women in international education from Lead 50/50 at ICEF Berlin in November.
2020 looks set to be another great year with a new centre at Dover College in the UK and Calgary in Canada. Dover College will host a year round integration programme as well as a summer school. Michael Owen's Red Star School
We are very excited to be running a new football course in partnership with Michael Owen at our Summer schools in Woodcote in 2020. The course features 15 hours of coaching a week and was written exclusively for Stafford House Summer by football legend Michael Owen and will be delivered by ex-Liverpool Captain and England International Mark Wright, alongside other fully qualified and experienced coaches.
Each weekly training course will include surprise visits by other footballing legends, and opportunities will be available for all students to train with the players as well as taking photos and receiving signed gifts. Classic Plus Rugby
We are proud to announce that former professional Rugby Union player, Glenn Gelderbloom will be head coach for our Classic Plus Rugby course at Oakham School in the UK in summer 2020!
Glenn has a huge wealth of Rugby experience, having won two English Premiership titles with Leicester Tigers
in the UK and having played for Border Bull Dogs and Western Province in South Africa. If your young learners want to improve their English and their game, this course is the course for them!

Agent Academy
The new online training programme for agent partners we have been running for the past few months has been a huge success! We're proud to announce that for the next semester we will be developing our first 6 month Agent Professional Development training programme!

It's official! STAFFORD HOUSE SUMMER is here for the 2019 season with all of our centres now being open to students! Excitingly, our newest centre, Chichester College, opened over the weekend to a lovely bunch of students! We can't wait to see what they think of the little city by the sea!

We have started hosting a series of online webinars for our partner agents, sharing first-hand experiences from our experts who work with our students daily, and helping to provide greater confidence to our partners promoting our programmes.
The webinars hosted recently include in-depth looks at our London Academic Explorer, University Pathways and our Career Preparation Activity programmes.
We are pleased to announce that we will be hosting our next webinar on our popular Professional Certificate programme on Wednesday, 22nd May.

San Francisco Career Preparation Activity:
Our San Francisco school offers our unique Career Preparation Activity which gives students a fantastic opportunity to gain global professional experience from a range of prestigious companies. Students will develop their resume and interview skills, practice English in the American workplace and progress with confidence towards their career goals!
Our students have had some great experiences taking our Career Preparation Activity, getting to know the American working style, building relationships with colleagues, and learning more about beautiful San Francisco. CPA students in San Francisco study full time at the school and spend time after class applying their English in real settings. Our students do placements in Business Administration, Sales and Marketing, Social Services, and Tourism.

Here at Stafford House Summer we are getting ready for another great season- we can’t wait to welcome you, your group leaders and students. With 14 centres across 4 countries, 300 members of staff and students from over 30 nationalities we are looking forward to a fun-packed summer!
As you all know our reservations department are taking great care to enrol your groups and make sure that their stay is as smooth and enjoyable as possible. If you have any last minute requirements or important information to pass on to us, they are always here to help you.
In recruitment we have been busy finding knowledgeable and dynamic teachers who will help your students grow in confidence and leave Stafford House with lots of new language to use.
Our activity leaders are not only specialists in sports, arts, drama and music but are also keen to share their love of speaking English.
Our experienced managers are there to ensure your group leaders are well looked after and have all the information they need. There are plenty of returning staff and familiar faces for those who have visited us before.
Our Operations team are working non-stop to organise exciting activities and excursions for your students. Our drumming, drama and samba workshops have been booked and shiny new sports equipment is ready to go! We now have even more excursion materials such as new walking tours for many destinations which will really help everyone to get the most out of their visits!
The summer is our favourite time of year and we hope that you are looking forward to it too!
