미국 프로그램 중 UNH(University of New Hampshire)와 RBC(Richard Bland College of William & Mary)에 새로운 소식이 있어 전해드립니다.
1. UNH 현지 영어시험 대상 변경
UNH는 그 동안 학생들의 영어실력을 더욱 정확하게 파악하기 위해, 모든 학생들을 대상으로 현지 도착 후 오리엔테이션에서 영어시험을 실시해 왔습니다. 그러나 2018년 여름학기부터 해당 시험에 대한 대상이 축소되었습니다.
•기존 : UNH 패스웨이 과정에 입학하는 모든 학생
•변경 : UNH 패스웨이 과정 전 영어과정부터 시작하는 학생
따라서, 2018년 여름학기부터 TOEFL 기준 70점 이상의 영어성적이 있는 학생은 현지 도착 후 시험을 다시 볼 필요가 없습니다.
TOEFL 기준 70점 미만으로 UNH에서 영어과정 선행 후 패스웨이 과정으로 오퍼 받은 학생들은, 기존과 같이 PBT 형식의 최종 시험을 통해 영어실력을 확인하게 됩니다. 이 시험의 결과로 영어과정이 면제 되는 등 학업 기간이 변경될 수 있습니다.
2. RBC -> UVA 편입 조건 변경
UVA(University of Virginia) 편입을 위한 조건 중 하나였던 SAT/ACT가 Commerce와 Education 전공 지원시에만 필수조건으로 변경되었습니다. 따라서 RBC를 마치고 UVA 편입을 계획하시는 학생들 중 Arts나 Sciences 계열 지원자는 SAT/ACT 시험을 준비하지 않으셔도 됩니다.
현재 활발히 모집중인 9월학기에 대해 아래와 같이 장학금 혜택을 마련하게 되어 공지드립니다.
1. UMass 장학혜택
UMass 2015년 가을학기 입학 장학혜택 (UMass Scholarship)
- 대상학교 : 유매스 보스턴, 유매스 다트머스, 유매스 로웰 캠퍼스
- 금액: $3,000
- 조건: 9월학기 입학 대상자 중, 예치금, $3,500 납부일 기준 선착순 적용
UMass 성적 우수 학생 장학혜택 (International Scholars Award)
- 대상학교: 유매스 다트머스, 유매스 로웰 캠퍼스
- 금액: 연 $3,000 (4년간 총 $12,000)
- 조건: Navitas 과정을 학업 평점 3.0 으로 수료 후, 각 학년마다 연간 학업 평점 3.0 이상 유지
We are now offering a new 2 semester Engineering PMP at UMass Dartmouth, which sees improved selling points, including:
•No GRE on entry OR exit
•Lower English entry level (IELTS 5.5 equivalent)
•Students can take the Pearson exam for entry
•Same total price toward graduate program costs
•Same length of total study**
•9 graduate credits taken in PMP eligible toward the Master’s degree**
•2nd semester in PMP will contain all graduate courses plus Navitas support
•Additional support for students to help progression through course.

UMass Dartmouth announces 30 NEW UPP, 4 year, $12,000 scholarships for this fall intake:
•Students awarded this scholarship will receive $3,000 towards their 1st year enrollment in the University Pathway Program.
•An additional $3,000 per year will also be awarded by the University on the basis of the student maintaining a Cumulative GPA of 3.0.
•These 30 scholarships will be issued on a ‘first paid- first issued’ basis*
•Last year when we ran a similar scholarship, 29 out of 30 students who matriculated to the University qualified for the scholarship. It shows that a GPA of 3.0 is very achievable and likely if a student studies hard.

We are extremely excited to announce that Navitas at UMass Dartmouth, in anticipation of program growth and development, have expanded and upgraded our offices, facilities and classroom space effective with the start of classes on September 3rd, 2014.
In order to provide an improved teaching and learning space for the students Navitas at UMass Dartmouth will expand to the Fall River Campus, which has excellent classroom and office space. The space is contiguous with the classroom suite to be used by the University’s new Intensive English Program, which will be initiated in academic year 2014-2015. As well as gaining this new space, Navitas at UMass Dartmouth will retain office space in its current location to preserve a presence close to student housing and on-campus activities.
UMass Dartmouth has campuses located on the South Coast of Massachusetts in the cities of Dartmouth, New Bedford and Fall River. The Dartmouth campus houses the five colleges/academic units, administrative offices and the UMass School of Law, along with residence halls. The New Bedford campus includes the Star Store, housing visual art classrooms/studios, and the School for Marine Sciences. The Fall River Campus, consists of teaching and office space, the Advanced Technology and Manufacturing Center (ATMC), which provides incubator space for business innovation, and the Massachusetts Accelerator for Bio-manufacturing (MAB), providing bioengineering companies with capabilities for testing their manufacturing processes.
We are delight with this opportunity that allows for improved teaching and learning space for the Navitas students, as well as offices for student support services to meet the students’ advising and counseling needs. This is a unique opportunity for international students as they will live on campus, experiencing the full diversity of the American university setting while at the same time participating in the life of an American city community.

Navitas 미국 패스웨이 - 입학 전 예치금 금액 변경
기존 Navitas 미국 프로그램은 I-20 발급 전 예치금 형태로 등록비용 $250을 청구하였으나, 오는 7월 1일부터 I-20 발급 전 예치금이 $3,500 으로 인상됩니다. 다만, 학비는 변동이 없으며 I-20 발급 시 예치금 $ 3,500 을 납부 한 후 수업 시작 전 납부하게 되는 전체 학비 50%에서 $3,500 이 공제된 금액을 납부하게 됩니다. 예치금 납부 후 학생 비자 거절의 사유로 취소가 발생하는 경우 종전과 같이 등록비용 $250을 제외한 나머지 금액은 환불됩니다. 변경된 예치금은 다음 달 7월 1일 이후로 제출 되는 입학신청 건에 대하여 적용됩니다.
