A new exhibition from Sir George Grey Special Collections depicting New Zealand¡¯s contribution to the First World War, both at the front and at home. This selection of books, manuscripts, maps, photographs and ephemera produced between 1914 and 1918 demonstrates what New Zealanders were reading and and how they saw the world - and the war - during this time. Among the items on show are a programme of the first ANZAC service in 1916, rare campaign maps of the Gallipoli Peninsula and letters written by soldiers from the front. This moving exhibition has been planned to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the start of the First World War and is part of the WW100 programme at Auckland Libraries.
